Norway is a land of surprises. The climate and geographical degree makes Norway enriched with valuable natural resources and gives immense life hope and pleasure to the eyes of the travelers who visit this promised land.
The Trollfjord, also known as the Trollfjorden is a 2-kilometer long fjord on the island of Austvågøya. Subsequently, the fjord is a narrow entrance with steep mountains alongside. The place is called a troll after the figure from Norse mythology. Trollfjord is blessed with natural beauty with waterfalls, snow-clad mountains, and beautiful greenery during winters. However, this place can only be accessed by boats or a 10-kilometer long hike. The hike is an adventurous experience as the terrain is rugged and challenging.
Besseggen is a mountain ridge located in Innlandet county. This place is known for its beautiful scenic mountain hikes. That is to say, about 30000 visitors hike this place every year. The hike uphill is a little tiring yet enjoyable. It is recommended you eat a high-calorie diet and carry some food and water along the route. Besseggen is renowned for its one specific thing. If a photograph was taken from a certain angle it makes Besseggen appear as if the river is floating over the lake. Hikers can expect some great views of Gjende and Bessvatnet from the top.
Stegastein viewpoint
The Stegastein Viewpoint is a 30-meter long platform on the Sogn Fjordane county road. The viewpoint does offer some great scenic views of Aurlandsvangen and Aurlandsfjord. Likewise, the road trip to this very location cannot be underestimated. The county road 243 is surrounded by some seriously beautiful sights. Visitors can always take the bus to this place if they are not up for a drive.
FjordSafari - Flam Guide Service AS
Norway is full of a natural treasure, right? Fjords, waterfalls, snow-clad mountains, rivers. The Fjord Safari is one heck of an experience if you ever plan a trip to Norway. Certainly, the travelers highly recommend taking the safari on the fast boat. The safari is super safe and utmost care is taken against all the elements. It is a great way to spend some time in the veins of Norweigan Fjords. Don’t forget to get that Brown cheese after the end of your safari.
Rondane National Park
Rondane is the oldest national park in Norway. The park itself sits on a height and houses 10 peaks with a height above 2000 meters. Rondeslottet is the highest peak at an altitude of 2178 meters. It almost takes a day trip to reach the peak. Thousand of kilometers of land can be easily accessed by visitors. Above all, millions of trails with billions of animal species are something to be admired about this place.
Maihaugen
Maihaugen is one of the largest open-air museums in Northern Europe and also one of the most visited tourist attractions. That is to say because Maihaugen is a place with over 200 buildings colored uniquely to facilitate the Norweigan culture. Tourists visit to embrace the beauty of this open-air museum and the colors of fall.
Kjosfossen Falls
Kjosfossen Falls can be described as the Dudhsagar of Norway. This waterfall is 225 meters overall which certainly makes it the most visited tourist attractions. Most importantly, there is a small power station situated on the waterfall which powers the Flam Line railway. The reason I addressed the Kjosfossen falls as Dudhsagar of Norway is that the Flam Line railway passes directly in front of the falls. That is to say, as it is one of the main reasons tourists prefer to take the Flam railway.
Polar Park
The polar park is situated in the far northern region of Norway in the Troms county. The park was established with the motto of displaying animals in their natural habitat. To clarify the park is basically a north pole wildlife sanctuary spread on 110 hectares of land. Above all, the park is the world’s most northernmost animal park. The Nordic fauna and the polar animal species are reasons for travelers to visit Polar Park. There are large predators like brown bear, wolf, wolverine, and other animals like moose, red deer, reindeer, and many more.
Lovatnet
In the vein, Lovatnet is a lake formed from the clear melted water of Ramnefjellsfossen glacier which is carried by an 800 m long waterfall. The Lovatnet also flows down the mountain passing through some other glaciers. The route to this place is very scenic and safe. It is located just 6 km away from the village of Olden in Vestland county. Visitors can take biking tours or walk alongside the scenic lake and enjoy the view. Kayaking is also available if you ever wish to explore the lake more.
Norway is a bundle of surprises all-natural and untouched by humans. Natural fertility is a boon to the country. Such beautiful landscapes, breathtaking Fjords, and calm lakes just add up to the climate. Though not all of these places are hidden but are tragically are the least visited places in the country. The winters here are tough and the summers too awe-aspiring, the weather is most lovely if you make up your mind to enjoy every bit of it. To sum up, the above-discussed places are definitely worth a visit rather than some expensive hyped up spots.
Happy Travel!
