Cuba, officially the Republic of Cuba, is a country in the Caribbean with mainland Cuba and other small islands. It is well known for its Caribbean culture, colorful cities, white sand beaches, music, and cigars. Cuba is rich in heritage, wildlife, and art. It is located in the northern Caribbean region where 3 water bodies meet – the Caribbean sea, the Atlantic sea, and the Gulf of Mexico. Though being a Caribbean nation, this country is considered a part of Latin America.

Cuba is often referred to as ‘ EL CROCODILO ‘ which means a crocodile in Spanish. That is the exact shape of the Cuban Island when seen from an ariel view – A crocodile.
This gorgeous place is a treasure. It encompassed more than 250 protected areas, 257 national monuments, & UNESCO World Heritage Sites, & natural biosphere reserves, and various other unique destinations. As the island lies South of the Tropic of Cancer, the climate here is always tropical being warm and humid, yet enjoyable. Cuba is a heaven for people who love jumping off high cliffs. It is home to many cave pools like Cueva de Saturno which offers great swimming and diving experiences to travelers. Scuba diving is a major attraction here. Many national parks and historical monuments highlight the natural beauty of Cuba.
Culture and Cuisine:
Cuba highlights the mixed culture of Spain and Africa. It is influenced by the melting pot of these cultures. Cuba used to be a penurious nation, but after the revolution of 1959, the country started some campaigns. This offered students free education and establish rigorous sports and music programs.
Cuban food is also a mixed tape of Caribbean and Spanish cuisines. Spices are influenced by Spanish cooking and flavor from the Caribbean. Cubans love their food spicy. Most of the Cuban food is served directly, that is all at the same time. Typically a meal in Cuba would consist of some plant veggies, black beans with rice, beef, pork, bread, and some tropical fruits. Black beans and rice along with some veggies are the chiefs of the Cuban diet.
Meat dishes are slowly cooked with light sauces and some other dominant spices. Meat is served alongside Mojitos or rum and coke or fresh fruit juices.
Cuba was once referred to as the Sugar Bowl of the World that’s because until 1960 Cuba was one of the leading sugarcane producers in the world. The sugarcane industry now is slowly decaying and is getting taken over by Brazil and India. A good amount of the Cuban economy is affected by tourism. Cuba has attracted almost tripled the number of tourists visiting every year since the last decade. The people here are great, friendly, and are always be ready to help someone in need. The tropical weather, the beaches, and the colorful towns always serve visitors with contentment and gratification.
