Georgia, the Eurasian country in the Caucasus region, is the country at the Intersection of Europe and Asia. It is known as the land of wolves. That is to say, because the Persian translation of Georgia is ‘wolf head’. The country has a Soviet history however is said to be the home of the first Europeans.

Many people consider this country when referred arbitrarily, as the state of America. But, enough of the American dream. Georgia is one of the most beautiful countries in Eurasia. In a testament to its history, it is filled with scenic ruins of old forts, chapels, churches, cave monasteries, and historic architecture to wander around.
To clarify, Georgia is the place where the first Europeans came from. It is often said to be the place where the wine originates, in the same vein not forgetting the love of wine in the European culture here.
Georgia though being a part of the Asia continent portrays a remarkable sight of the European culture to the travelers. The country is filled with historic monuments. The capital town, Tbilisi, has a diverse architecture and the streets are plot in a maze-like structure. Furthermore, sights like Gregeti Trinity Church, Vardzia, Liberty square, Prometheus Cave Natural Monument, Martvili Canyons, etc. are somethings not be missed on a tour to Georgia.
On top of that, the country is immensely biodiverse. Georgia lies on the same latitude as that of Bulgaria, France, and New York. This has blessed Georgia as the most biodiverse country in the world with 12 different climate zones and 40+ soil conditions. Tourists can encounter all types of weather right from the arctic cold to savannah drylands.
Culture and Cuisine:
Georgian culture is influenced by classic Greece, the Roman empire, and the Byzantine empire. The country is especially known for its music, dance, theatre, cinema, and art. Ballet choreographers from Georgia are globally renowned.
Not to mention the art and architecture. This country has been influencing various other cultures through its architecture. The ancient monuments and chapels are a matter of study for many archeological students. The classic dome and the cross dome architecture we see were originated in the early 9th century in Georgia.
Although, most of the Caucasian countries have the same cuisine. Khinkali, khachapuri, and pork, lamb meat is something Georgian love to eat. Beer and Wines are always sided with this cuisine. A variety of vegetarian options can be found in the western region.
Georgians love their native food but beware before you try out international cuisines. Like is you happen to order a pizza, you may find that the pizza is topped with mayonnaise and not Cheese. It might be adventurous for some, but a taste bud killer for others.
The history of Georgia, its culture, and natural biodiversity make it a beautiful country to put on your Caucasian bucket list. Enjoy nature, embrace the sunset on the Black sea beaches, ski down the Gudauri mountains, and capture the architecture in Tbilisi old town. This is Georgia!
