Queensland is the north-eastern state in Australia and is also one of the fastest-growing areas. It one of the most beautiful states in Australia. That is to say, because Queensland houses five of the eleven world heritage sights in Australia. Queensland is bordered by the pacific ocean on the east and New South Wales to the South. Since the majority of the state is surrounded by the ocean the climate is usually hot and humid.

As mentioned above, Queensland houses five world heritage sights in Australia. This makes Queensland worth a visit. Firstly, the number of national parks. Queensland itself is the home of more than 200 individual national parks which is one of the largest in the world. No other state in Australia has that many numbers of national parks.
Secondly, the cities. Just a fun fact, The gold coast city is the home of the highest residential building in the southern hemisphere. And above all, the Great Barrier Reef. The long shoreline with length more than 2000 kilometers. The naturally formed colorful Corals are something tourists love to visit. It is some of the few magnetic spots around the globe that attracts tourists from the farthest corner of the world to encounter this beauty.
Most importantly, the beaches. The enormous coastline is a bait for tourists. Beaches like Whitehaven Beach, Rainbow Bay, and Hamilton beach are majorly accessed. Surfing can be enjoyed during high tidal days. The state is full of other activities too. Many museums feature precious Australian Culture and wildlife. Remains of dinosaurs are beautifully preserved in the Brisbane Museum.
Playing with Koala bears in Kuranda Koala Gardens can be a once in a lifetime experience. Various hiking trails in the central part of Queensland are quite enjoyable. The weather, on the other hand, can make you feel tired but the scenic beauty will boast your system subsequently.
The GREAT BARRIER REEF
Queensland, Australia is known for its ecological diversity. But to be honest it is globally renowned for the Great Barrier Reef. To clarify, the Great Barrier Reef is the largest reef system in the entire world. The colorful corals and the variety of fish species is a piece of cake to the eye. The large area of more than 2000 kilometers is just filled with these amazing living creatures.
Some fun facts about the Great Barrier Reef.
The corals are living creatures and are home to thousands of fish species including a variety of whales, dolphins, snakes, sea turtles, and squids. They live in warm waters and only reproduce one every year. Looking at the size of the barrier reef it is obvious that they grow between 1 and 25 centimeters each year.
Almost 10% of all the fish species that exist in the world are found in the Great Barrier Reef itself. Isn’t it bananas? Ecological expeditions and researches have led to the discovery that the corals can be over a million years old. And some of the fish species can be traced back from the prehistoric era. Considering the squid, it is said to be a distant cousin to the nautilus aliens.
Travelers can take an easy tour of this place all throughout the year. The season form November to May is much recommended. Many places along the coast of Queensland offer ferry rides for tourists. Though the reef looks just parallel to the coastline, the boat rides here can take anywhere between 45 minutes to 2 hours. Various tours like the cruise ship tour, adventure sports like scuba diving, and kayaking can be enjoyed in the beautiful and colorful sea underneath.
Visiting Queensland can be a thrilling yet colorful experience for travelers. You can enjoy the dive in the warm salty water and swim through the corals. And surf back into the beautiful gold coast city and enjoy that urban taste. Visit Queensland!
