Down by the rolling waves of the south china sea, Vietnam is one of southeast Asia’s most alluring country. Vietnam’s cosmopolitan cities are an homage to a culture that has been crafted over centuries. At times it feels like a living, breathing museum. Then there is the stunning diversity of the landscapes that have been timing with the natural wonders that have been there from the beginning of the times.
LUCKY DIP:
Vietnam was almost burned to the soil after the great Vietnamese war which ended by 1990. The country suffered a great loss. Even though the tough times, Vietnam succeed the collapse with great economic and social development. The tourism industry was very low comparing the tourism of Thailand and other neighboring countries. But today Vietnam is considered to be one of the most visited places in southeastern Asia.
Vietnam is full of natural beauty. You can find lush green farms, plantations, and forests throughout your journey. In Hanoi, travelers can discover the city as rich century-old architecture and cultural heritage as it is in mouth-watering food. Both are primed to grab the travelers’ attention from the moment they set foot in the city. The country is filled with lakes, historic ruins of temples, museums, and loads of monuments that reflect the shadow of ancient Japanese, Hindu, and Chinese culture.
The climate throughout the country is quite tropical with humidity all around. But not forgetting the highlands in the far northern region of Vietnam. Some places in higher altitudes can be experienced for rough snowfall in the winters. Travelers can enjoy bike rides, treks, and various other activities in these mountainous trails.
The Ban Goic Waterfall is one of the most visited attractions in Vietnam. It is top-rated by travelers worldwide and is highly recommended by the locals.
CULTURE
The Vietnamese culture is strongly influenced by the Southern Chinses culture. Since the long-dominant history of China, the people of Vietnam seem to have adapted the Southern Chinese culture. But there have been some upgrades. The Vietnamese people have absorbed some culture form their neighboring Hindu countries. Though the language is completely different, there are some traces of similar Chinese words.
Buddhism is the most followed religion which leads to a scale of 4 to 8 % of the total population. Most of the people belong to the Vietnamese tribal or folk religion. And many are atheists.
CUISINE
Vietnamese food and beverages feature a combination of five fundamental tastes in their overall meals. The five elements of nature being wood, fire, earth, metal, and water. And the correspondents being – spices, organs, colors, senses, and nutrients.
The main/daily cuisine consists of boiled rice, tofu, meat, fish, fresh green vegetables, soup, various dipping sauces, and desert. Food cooked in bamboo stems, marinated in banana leaves, and hot pot dishes are some of the cooking methods of the Vietnamese which make their food tasty and exotic. Vietnam is famous for itis bizarre food which you can check in *this* blog.
Vietnam flips things on its heads but perhaps that’s what makes the country’s places special. There are memorable experiences everywhere you turn and each one is unique. It will stay with you for different reasons. A trip to this beautiful country will give you a taste for noodles at breakfast and markets at night from sunrise to sunset. Welcome to Viet Nam.
