Ceremonies are performed to worship the Goddess of Wealth – Laxmi, who is believed to shower her blessings upon us.
On top of that, firecrackers are a major attraction. A huge amount of firecrackers burst to open happiness among us. The festival brings joy to all of us and spreads happiness and caring all over.

Varanasi or Kashi is one of the best places to be in during Diwali. The city is not only known for the holy rituals but also the great enthusiasm for celebrating every festival with great joy and energy. On the other hand, taking a dip into the Ganga river purifies your mind and soul.
The ethnic markets are exceptionally admirable. Meanwhile, a boat ride during the sunset can boast up your visit. The shinny river water and the Ganga ghats lit up with thousands of diyas are worth a sight. Plan to stay longer and not miss the Dev Deepavali (Diwali of the Gods). Consequently, that is the time when the Ganga Mahotsav festival is conducted.
Amritsar
Amritsar houses one of the most expensive and exotic shrines in the world – The Golden Temple. Most importantly, Diwali is the tie to visit this place because it the time when the Sikh community celebrates Bandi Chhor Diwas.
