Kashmir is considered to be the most beautiful territory in the entire world. After all, many of the world-renowned authors and poets often narrate it as the paradise of the living world. The land of Kashmir is blessed with the gifts of mother nature. The province is so lush with plants, fruits, flowers which consequently makes the vibe happy.
Let us dive deep inside the demography of Kashmir. Jammu & Kashmir is prominently divided into 3 parts. Jammu – the southernmost part, is the entry point of this state. Jammu Tavi is the last railway station inside this territory. That is to say, the journey further inside can only be done by road or flights. Jammu is the winter capital and the majority of the population is of ‘the Hindus’- considering the religious aspects.
Secondly, Kashmir – the northwestern region is the most populated area followed by Jammu and Ladakh. Kashmir comprises of 97% of the Muslim population. And the third territory is the region of Ladakh. Ladakh is basically a Buddhist civilization. The entire region is slightly tilted towards the Tibetan culture and tradition. You can see loads of monasteries and monks along the roads of Ladakh.
The Jawahar Tunnel
The Jawahar Tunnel is a roadway tunnel that starts from the town of Banihal and takes you deep into the heart of Kashmir. This 1.77-mile-long tunnel was opened up in 1956 in a dream to establish easy and year-round road transport from Kashmir Valley. Certainly, the tunnel is named after the first prime minister of India – Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru.
The tunnel is high up on the hilltop and is surrounded by lush greenery in summers. However, in winter the entry point from the Banihal is okayish, but once you exit the tunnel it seems as if nature has pulled over a white blanket. That is to say, almost 95% of the land is covered in snow all winter. Snow so thick you’ll need to dig a few feet underneath to actually touch the ground.

In earlier sentences, we spoke about some spiritual sights in Kashmir. Each and every shrine in Kashmir is not only divine but the best combination of a spiritual and psychological boon. It is soothing to both mind and body. Vaishno Devi and Baba Amarnath are some of the most famous ones. Similarly, Martand Sun Temple that is located in the Anantnag region is one of the oldest archeological sites which dates back to the 8th century C.E. The magnificent temple is situated on the top of the mountain and is circumference with a view of the entire Kashmir Valley.
