Rohtang Pass is one of the most anticipated destinations in all over India. The beautiful vistas point is the major attraction for tourists visiting Kullu and Manali. Moreover, a surge in the number of visitors to Rohtang Pass happens around the summer. Besides, the pass is just 50 km from the main town and a perfect destination for a blissful road trip. However, due to the heavy snowfall and unpredictable weather around Rohtang Pass, it is shut down after the 2nd week of October itself. Thus, a lot of people visit it during summer so that it’s safe to travel. There has been a recent update about the reopening of Rohtang Pass for tourists.

Secondly, the place is completely covered with snow and needs a clearing before the visitors are allowed. There has been a discussion going on about the situation with the officials. Reopening Of Rohtang Pass:
In the recent context, the cases of COVID-19 continue to increase at an unexpected rate. Amid this, the talk about the reopening of the Rohtang Pass is coming up. It is anticipated that this pass will be made available for tourists by the end of April. Moreover, the Border Roads Organisation(BRO) has already begun working on clearing the snow. They are engaged in getting the snow cleared from the Manali-Leh highway. It is considered that if the Rohtang Pass is opened for tourism, then an increase in the number of travelers is expected.
In addition to clearing the Manali-Rohtang Highway, Beas Nullah avalanches are also cleared. Moreover, Marhi will also be reconnected to Manali in few days. Since the Atal Tunnel has bypassed the highway, the Border Roads Organisation(BRO) has cleared the snow from the pass. However, traffic is bound to restore on the Manali-Rohtang-Keylong highway by April end. A statement was made by Manali’s Sub-Divisional Magistrate that BRO is making arrangements for the tourists to enjoy the snow at Marhi and Beas Nullah in the upcoming week.
The COVID-19 Guidelines For Travelers:
Considering that you are planning to visit this wonderful place, how do you plan to travel? If you are taking a train to Manali and then a road trip to Rohtang Pass, then you must know this. There have been some updated COVID-19 guidelines led by the government for the railway passengers. First of all, you need to follow the guidelines that are put forward by the state government. Thus, every state may have different rules.
According to these guidelines, you must carry a COVID-19 negative certificate to travel by train. The officials of the Himachal Pradesh government have made this rule mandatory for tourists. Especially those from the states of Punjab, Delhi, Maharashtra, Gujarat, Karnataka, Rajasthan, and Uttar Pradesh are supposed to carry an RT-PCR negative test report with them.
